Chinese manufacturers shipped more than 97% of the world's humanoid robots in the first half of 2026, according to a report by California research firm Smart Analytics Global cited by Bloomberg on 10 August 2026.

Smart Analytics Global said Chinese makers shipped over 18,500 of roughly 19,100 humanoid robots worldwide during the period. China also accounted for more than 85% of global demand, the firm said.

Global shipments more than tripled from 5,100 units a year earlier, a rise of 272%, according to the report.

Shanghai-based Agibot took the top spot with 8,400 units, a 44% share, overtaking Hangzhou-based Unitree's 5,900 units, or 31%. Together the two firms accounted for about 75% of the market. US makers Tesla, Figure AI and Agility Robotics shipped far fewer units, the report said.

Linda Sui, founder of Smart Analytics Global, said "industrial and commercial applications accounted for more than 70% of shipments, up from approximately 50% a year earlier."

The firm forecasts about 60,000 humanoid robot shipments in 2026, rising to half a million units by 2030, generating roughly $3 billion in revenue. The shipment figures count units delivered rather than robots performing sustained productive work, and analysts say the technology remains immature.

The report follows a move by the United States in late July to ban imports of new Chinese-made humanoid and quadruped robots and some components, citing security grounds. The data was also published on the day Unitree began its share subscription for a listing in Shanghai, becoming the first humanoid robot maker to list on China's A-share market, according to [TechNode](https://technode.com/2026/08/11/chinese-makers-accounted-for-more-than-97-of-global-humanoid-robot-shipments-in-h1-2026/).

Further details on the pace of the US import restrictions and their effect on shipment volumes were not disclosed in the report, according to [Bloomberg via Yahoo Finance](https://finance.yahoo.com/technology/ai/articles/china-humanoid-makers-hold-97-051358284.html).
