# OpenAI expands ChatGPT Health to all US users over 18

OpenAI expanded ChatGPT Health to all US users aged 18 and over on every subscription tier, rolling the feature out on web and iOS during the week of 23 July 2026. OpenAI said the change lets health data be used across all ChatGPT conversations, not just inside a dedicated hub.

ChatGPT Health launched in January as a hub where users can connect Apple Health, MyFitnessPal, Function and medical-record systems including Epic and Oracle Health, according to [TechCrunch](https://techcrunch.com/2026/07/23/openai-makes-chatgpt-health-available-to-all-u-s-users/). In testing, 70% of health questions happened outside that hub, prompting the wider integration.

Weekly health-related questions to ChatGPT grew from 230 million in January to 300 million, OpenAI said.

OpenAI said its GPT-5.6 Luna model outperforms GPT-5.5 on the HealthBench evaluation.

OpenAI said health data is not used to train its foundation models, and it works with physicians on response safety. The company's terms state the service is "not intended for use in the diagnosis or treatment of any health condition".

The expansion came as a Florida pastor sued OpenAI, alleging ChatGPT gave dangerous medical guidance.

OpenAI has not said when or whether ChatGPT Health will expand beyond the United States.
