DeepSeek opened its Search and Fetch APIs to all developers building AI agents, at RMB 5 per 1,000 requests.
DeepSeek on 19 October opened its Search and Fetch APIs to all developers building AI agents, giving them access to the company's proprietary in-house search engine.
Each service costs RMB 5 per 1,000 successful requests. The company said failed requests, empty search results and timeouts are not charged.
DeepSeek said Search returns structured web results. Fetch extracts a webpage's title and content as Markdown, according to TechNode.
Developers use their existing DeepSeek API credentials to access both services.
Server-side calls made through DeepSeek Harness, Claude Code and Codex are currently unbilled. TechNode reported that "Charging for those calls will begin at midnight Beijing time on November 1."
The details come from DeepSeek's API documentation, which is published in Chinese.
The launch follows the V4.1-Flash-1017 model update, which DeepSeek published on 17 October.
Billing for server-side calls through DeepSeek Harness, Claude Code and Codex starts at midnight Beijing time on 1 November.
