The answer

Meta rolled out its Muse AI agent to glasses, Mac and a new keychain device.

Meta put its Muse personal AI agent at the centre of its device lineup at Connect 2026 in Menlo Park on Wednesday 23 September 2026. Mark Zuckerberg said in his keynote that the company is shifting its pitch from the metaverse to what he called personal superintelligence.

Meta said Muse will stay free for a large number of tokens, with the company expecting to profit over time by taking a small fee on transactions.

Muse launched on 8 September 2026 in the US, Canada and Mexico across iOS, Android, muse.ai and WhatsApp, according to TechCrunch. The agent books travel, fills in forms and makes purchases, running on Meta's Muse Spark multimodal model. Meta said it has already reached millions of users.

Zuckerberg said, "I expect that Muse is going to grow into the personal superintelligence that billions of people around the world are going to use."

Meta said Muse is coming to its AI glasses in the coming months, where it can be activated by name and act on what the wearer is looking at, including guided workouts, meal logging, appointment booking and shopping. The company also announced an advanced voice mode with customisable voices, a Muse Realtime Avatar model for live video chat, and a version of Muse for Mac that can operate desktop apps and continue tasks after the user steps away.

Meta unveiled the Muse Charm, a palm-sized keychain device with a small screen showing the agent's avatar, letting users carry Muse without a phone. The company said more details will follow later in 2026.

New shopping and productivity connectors include Walmart, Best Buy, Sephora, Wayfair, Gap, Shop Pay, PayPal, Expedia, Instacart, Notion, Granola, GitHub and Box. Meta's chief AI officer, Alexandr Wang, said more than 1,500 developers applied to build connectors in under a week and teased a new model from Meta Superintelligence Labs "soon".

Meta also announced hardware updates: Adventurer glasses at $249, on sale 23 October; Ray-Ban Meta Audio, the company's first camera-free glasses, at $349, shipping 13 October; Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3 at $449; and Meta Ray-Ban Display, priced at $799, expanding to the UK, Canada, France, Italy and Germany. Meta VR Glasses, weighing about 100 grams, will cost $1,299.99 when they launch in spring 2027. An FDA-cleared hearing-enhancement feature will cost $149.99 in the US later in 2026, according to Meta.

Amazon has blocked Muse from shopping on its site, saying the agent's access violates its terms of service. Meta did not say when or whether that dispute would be resolved.
