The answer
TechCrunch reports Etched is receiving bids at $40 billion to $50 billion valuations, unconfirmed.
Etched, a startup that builds chips for AI inference, is fielding bids that value it at $40 billion to $50 billion, TechCrunch reported on 6 October.
TechCrunch said the figure is about double the $21 billion valuation Etched reached in September, according to AI Weekly, citing TechCrunch.
The bids are reported only. They do not represent a closed deal, and the report has not been confirmed.
In September, Jane Street led a $700 million funding round at the $21 billion valuation.
In July, Sequoia led a $300 million round that valued Etched at $10.3 billion.
Etched designs chips for AI inference, the stage at which a trained model produces outputs.
No deal has been announced. The notes give no timetable, so the next confirmed step is any announcement of a completed round by Etched or its investors.
