Anthropic files for proposed Nasdaq IPO under ticker ANT

The filing sets no share count, price range or valuation, and the listing is expected around mid-November.

The answer

Anthropic filed with the SEC for a Nasdaq IPO and disclosed an $80.7 billion six-month loss.

Anthropic, PBC filed a registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission on 26 October for a proposed initial public offering of its Class A common stock on the Nasdaq under the symbol "ANT". Anthropic said the registration statement is not yet effective, so the shares cannot be sold or bought yet.

The filing discloses a net loss of $80.7 billion for the first six months of 2026, NBC News reported. The net loss for all of 2025 was $42 billion.

Revenue grew 1,368% year on year in the three months ended 30 June 2026, according to the filing. Anthropic's risk factors warn: "Our revenue growth may not be sustainable, and our rate of growth may decrease."

NBC News reported that server and chip rental costs rose about 300% over the same period.

About $141 billion had been raised through the end of June, and cash on hand was $112.4 billion. Anthropic said it expects its current cash and sales to cover the next 12 months, but it may need additional financing sooner than planned.

The filing lists compute commitments of at least $110 billion with Amazon through April 2036, $120 billion with SpaceX through 2029, $115 billion with Google through 2033 and $45 billion with Microsoft through 2033.

The filing does not set the share count, price range or total valuation. NBC News said the valuation could exceed $2 trillion. SpaceX's valuation at its June IPO was $2.1 trillion, NBC News reported.

The share count and price range will be set after a roadshow with investors. Timing is expected around mid-November, later than first anticipated because of recent market moves, NBC News said. Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC and Morgan Stanley & Co. LLC are named as contacts for the preliminary prospectus.
