Meta plans to raise up to $95 billion from share sales for AI
Meta plans to raise up to $95 billion from share sales to fund its artificial intelligence investments, the company announced on Monday, 26 October 2026. Meta said Nvidia, AMD and Broadcom had expressed interest in buying up to $5 billion of shares combined.
The company said the expressions of interest were "neither binding agreements nor firm purchase commitments". DPA reported the announcement in a story on Yahoo Finance.
Summaries of the announcement said the raise starts with $35 billion in underwritten public equity offerings, followed by $60 billion through an at-the-market programme. The figures do not appear in the report and could not be verified.
Reports said Meta is selling common and preferred stock, according to a Yahoo Finance video summary of a Bloomberg report. A new non-voting share class could let some stock be sold without diluting Mark Zuckerberg's stake. One summary describes the preferred stock as convertible; the others do not.
The announcement follows third-quarter results in which revenue rose 26%, according to search summaries. Summaries also said investors focused on negative free cash flow and higher capital spending. Meta projected full-year capital expenditure of $135 billion to $145 billion, according to an Epoch Times summary.
Shares fell about 1.6% in morning trading after the announcement, the summaries said.
The summaries said Meta plans to balance the spending with operating cash flow, investment-grade debt, partnerships and equity.
